Damn cold. It's raining. The Hungarian lecture was crowded (9 pupils). Hungarian was high over Mikko's head. I ate with Janne and Nakki at a Chinese. I read a book (Örkény: One minute stories). I took a nap. For some reason I'm feeling ok.
I paid the rent and bought a new tram ticket. The Vaasanians had been boozing heavily yesterday (surprise). X had broken a car window (surprise). I ate with Mikko and J-P at Iguana, a Mexican place. Quite expensive, but the place is nice and the food was excellent. For the first time in his life (?) J-P couldn't finish his portion.
In the evening I saw Big Lebowski with J-P. The Cinema (Bem) was almost as luxurious as Kino Säde in Mänttä. The movie wasn't as good as for the first time. It's still cold and raining.
Instead of the Hungarian lecture, I went to the OS Lab for the first time. Stupid. We learned the basics of Unix which I learned on my very first semester in Finland ("Computer Literacy"). I wonder what they have done for the first three weeks...learning to use the on/off switch?
Nakki and Mikko bought Pannon cards for their phones. (More info...) I didn't find it necessary to buy one, since I don't talk that much. I had a coffee in McD with Mikko. Seems to be the only place serving normal coffee, and that wasn't especially good either. The normal local coffee is strong, a bit bitter and served in cups whose volume quadratically approaches zero. I took a nap. The great majority went to see Jamiroquai in the evening.
I visited the school library. The reading room is like a church. One is not allowed to take a bag inside, and the student card must be left to the supervisor. Stupid bureaucracy. We played football. Hungary beat Finland severely. Mikko went to Vienna.
Gloomy. Low blood sugar.
J-P slept on the toilet floor in the morning. (Martos party yesterday; I slept.) Nakki bought a second hand motor cycle, ca. 200000ft, 1993 250cc Gilera.
We had lunch in a twelve people group: Mikko, Jarkko, Nakki, Anssi K, me, Anssi's god mother, a teacher from Rauma and their Hungarian guide Ilona -- who had been 12 years in Helsinki as a nurse -- Sanna-Kaisa and Tanja who study in Warsaw, and Jani + girlfriend from Nürnberg.
In the evening we (excl. the older ladies) were at Piia's place. The Lithuanian girl Austra, whom we met in Gellért a couple of weeks ago, was also there. We played "truth or dare and snake and ladders". For the first time in Budapest I drank too much (wine). At night we were in Irish Cat. I think I talked with some German guys. I walked back to Martos, not feeling good at all.
Hangover day. I got up at one, took a shower and went to sleep. I got up at five and had breakfast. Mikko, J-P and Anssi left for a one week ex tempore trip to Austria and Germany. I meant to go to movies with Jarkko, but Star Wars was sold out. Probably didn't miss much.
